How newsletter signups on this website are collected and used.
What the signup form saves
When you submit the form and agree to receive the newsletter, we save your name, email address, signup date, the page path where you signed up and the version of the consent statement. We use these details for The Raisina Post newsletter and may transfer them to our publication on Substack to deliver it. This form does not automatically confirm ownership of an email address.
Where the records are kept
The public website is hosted on GitHub Pages. Signup records are stored separately in a Cloudflare D1 database through the Sites hosting service. They are not written to the public GitHub repository. Reader-list downloads and deletion controls are restricted to the publication owner. Substack handles details imported into its service under its own privacy policy.
Storage and retention
We retain signup records for up to 24 months, unless you request earlier removal. Records older than this are removed when the service next processes a signup. Short-lived, hashed request identifiers help limit signup abuse; raw IP addresses are not saved in the reader list. Hosting providers may process request information in their own operational logs.
Your browser stores only whether you dismissed the invitation or joined. Closing it suppresses automatic invitations for seven days. Your name and email are not stored in browser storage by this form. Clearing browser storage resets that preference.
Withdraw consent or request removal
You can unsubscribe using the link in newsletter emails. To request access, a correction or deletion of details collected here, email raisinapost@substack.com from the address concerned. Removing an entry from this signup database does not by itself remove a subscription already imported into Substack; tell us if you want both removed.
Other services on the website
Optional TradingView market widgets are paused until you permit external market embeds through the site’s privacy choices. Links you open to independent research providers are subject to those providers’ own policies. For the consent categories and 180-day preference period, read the full privacy policy or use Cookie preferences in the footer. The newsletter form sends your details only after you submit it.
