"markdown": "Editorial standardsEditorial policy · reviewed 2 November 2026 \n\n# Editorial policy.\n\nThe standards governing source selection, analysis, corrections and commercial disclosures at The Raisina Post.\n\nThis is the authoritative editorial policy for The Raisina Post. Material changes to these standards will be dated on this page.\n\nEditorial contact [raisinapost@substack.com](<mailto:raisinapost@substack.com>)\n Old Parliament House, New Delhi · Architectural illustration \n\n01 / EDITORIAL PURPOSE\n\n## Coverage priorities\n\nWe follow decisions with significant consequences for India—how public institutions function, how economic choices are made and how global developments alter India's options.\n\nCoverage priorities reflect public significance and the available evidence. Articles provide the context required to assess a development and identify the limits of the source material.\n\nWe select stories for explanatory value and public interest, not for the volume of daily headlines. We distinguish developments that are confirmed, matters still under consultation and outcomes that cannot yet be assessed.\n\n02 / SOURCES & VERIFICATION\n\n## Sources and verification\n\nWhen available, we begin with original documents: legislation, court orders, regulatory notices, published datasets, company disclosures and official statements. We cross-check important assertions against credible attributed reporting and link consequential claims to relevant material.\n\nA quotation, named source or numerical comparison should be traceable. Statistics need their reference periods and units. Different accounts of an event are not merged into a false consensus; material disputes and unresolved points should remain visible.\n A useful distinction\n\nAnnounced spending is not expenditure. A proposed law is not legislation in force. An allegation is not an established finding.\n\nFor company ownership and transactions, filings must be identified by issuer, reporting date, class of security and relevant percentage basis. For government statistics, a calendar year, financial year, budget estimate and actual result must not be silently mixed.\n\nWhere a material claim rests on a single source, we aim to make that limitation clear. A document's existence does not necessarily establish the truth of every assertion within it.\n\n03 / REPORTING & ANALYSIS\n\n## Fact, interpretation and opinion\n\nThe Power Brief is a sourced editorial synthesis. Analysis examines the possible implications of established facts and is identified as analysis rather than presented as a reported development.\n\nGuest arguments and opinion, when published, are labelled and attributed. We do not invent interviews, quotations, eyewitness accounts or access to unpublished records. Document analysis is described as document analysis; it is not disguised as field reporting.\n\nHeadlines and visual summaries should not imply more certainty than the reporting supports. When a story involves allegations, disputed findings or pending proceedings, that status belongs in the body and, where material, in the headline or summary.\n\n04 / CORRECTIONS\n\n## Corrections and updates\n\nMaterial factual errors are corrected in the publicly available article. A significant correction should identify what changed and when. Ordinary spelling or formatting fixes may be made without a separate note.\n\nWe assess claims of error against the evidence. Disagreement with an interpretation is not automatically a factual correction, but reasoned challenges and newly available documents deserve consideration.\n [Request a correction by email](<mailto:raisinapost@substack.com?subject=Editorial%20correction>) \n\nA correction should be discoverable to readers of the affected work, rather than confined to a private message. Where the error appears in a chart or dataset, the corrected reference period or underlying values should be identified.\n\n05 / IMAGES, AUDIO & AI\n\n## Images, audio and production tools\n\nIllustrations are interpretations, not photographs of documented events. AI-generated illustrations are labelled; photographs require appropriate reuse rights and credits. Synthetic voices used in audio are disclosed.\n\nTechnology may support research organisation, writing or production. It does not independently establish a fact, authenticate a source or take editorial responsibility for what appears under The Raisina Post's name.\n\nGenerated architectural scenes and reconstructed images must be presented as illustrations rather than documentary photography. We do not use synthetic imagery as purported evidence that a specific event occurred. Charts must distinguish observed data from projections, estimates and design examples.\n\n06 / ADVERTISING & CONFLICTS\n\n## Commercial relationships and disclosures\n\nOur published policy does not allow third-party advertising, paid placement or payment in return for favourable coverage. Relevant personal or commercial interests are disclosed rather than left for readers to discover.\n\nA labelled Sunday house message concerning Alle's ClinX, a brand of Champaran Innovatives Private Limited, is an affiliated communication. It is separate from the selection, evidence and conclusions of editorial stories.\n\nReporting about an affiliated organisation warrants particularly clear disclosure. A commercial or personal relationship cannot confer a right to suppress criticism, approve conclusions or determine the evidentiary standard used in coverage.\n\n07 / ACCESS & CHANGES\n\n## Reader access and future revisions\n\nThe current briefings and explainers are free to read on Substack. This may evolve, but a change to access or editorial standards should not be implied retroactively.\n\nThis policy was reviewed on 2 November 2026. Material changes will be dated on this page.\n\nSubstantial changes to reader rights, subscription arrangements or our commitments around disclosures will be described on the relevant published page. Historical articles may retain a record of corrections and updates.\n\n08 / CONTACT\n\n## Questions and evidence\n\nCorrections, factual challenges, documents and reporting questions may be sent by replying to an edition or writing to [raisinapost@substack.com](<mailto:raisinapost@substack.com>). Please identify the exact passage and relevant evidence when raising an error.\n\nFor more about the publication and its research archive, visit [About the publication](<https://theraisinapost.com/about/>).\n\nPlease identify the article URL, publication date, specific statement and source materials supporting the proposed change. Requests for anonymity or sensitive-source handling should be raised before sending documents that reveal another person's identity.\n\nEDITORIAL INFORMATION\n\n## Policy and correspondence.\n\n[Email corrections](<mailto:raisinapost@substack.com?subject=Editorial%20correction>)[About the publication](<https://theraisinapost.com/about/>)",
